On Cocolourings and Cochromatic Numbers of Graphs

چکیده
A cocolouring of a graph G is a partition of the vertices such that each set of the partition induces either a clique or an independent set in G. The cochromatic number of G is the smallest cardinality of a cocolouring of G. We show that the cochromatic number problem remains NP-complete for line graphs of comparability graphs (and hence for line graphs and K,, ,-free graphs), and we present polynomial time algorithms for computing the cochromatic numbers of chordal graphs and cographs.

Clopen Graphs, Inverse Limits, and Cochromatic Numbers
A graph G on a topological space X as its set of vertices is clopen if the edge relation of G is a clopen subset of X2 without the diagonal. We study clopen graphs on Polish spaces in terms of their finite induced subgraphs and obtain information about their cochromatic numbers. In this context we investigate modular profinite graphs, a class of graphs obtained from finite graphs by taking inve...
متن کاملLarge Cliques and Stable Sets in Undirected Graphs
The cochromatic number of a graph G is the minimum number of stable sets and cliques of G covering the vertex-set of G. In this paper we survey some resent results and techniques developed in an attempt to answer the question: excluding which induced subgraphs causes a graph to have bounded cochromatic number?

متن کاملOn the Eccentric Connectivity Index of Unicyclic Graphs
In this paper, we obtain the upper and lower bounds on the eccen- tricity connectivity index of unicyclic graphs with perfect matchings. Also we give some lower bounds on the eccentric connectivity index of unicyclic graphs with given matching numbers.
متن کاملDouble Roman domination and domatic numbers of graphs
A double Roman dominating function on a graph $G$ with vertex set $V(G)$ is defined in cite{bhh} as a function$f:V(G)rightarrow{0,1,2,3}$ having the property that if $f(v)=0$, then the vertex $v$ must have at least twoneighbors assigned 2 under $f$ or one neighbor $w$ with $f(w)=3$, and if $f(v)=1$, then the vertex $v$ must haveat least one neighbor $u$ with $f(u)ge 2$. The weight of a double R...
